I got a haircut yesterday to suprise Steph when she got back. I've never felt at ease with short hair, and now it's even worse. Lopping off all that extra hair has revealed that I am officialy going grey. Just looking at my hair in the mirror yesterday I found a dozen pearly white hairs. Fun stuff :P |

Today's QotD is brought to you by my metaphysics class' discussion on punishment theory.
"You can eat a soccer hooligan."
I also have a joke, from the same class.
Q: "How many voters does it take to change a light bulb?" A: "None; voters can't change anything." |

Well, it is 12:14 amd I am just returning home. I had a good study session at the Wolf and Hound tonight. I even managed to do some studying! After a while, though, I was happy just to be drunk. Info on this evening!: Two birthdays tonight. One was John, who was suprised by a suprise party of over fifty people(!!1!) and the other was a kid who came over with his friends and sat nest to me a t the bar. He just turned 19. Happy birthday! No idea what his name was, but he was wearing a Misfits t-shrit. My waitresses were Gem and Amanada. Otherwise... hrmmm... Oh! My tab was for 4 black velvets, 2 strongbows, 1 pitjcer of harp, and two plates of fries. Fun times! Anyways.... my head hurts and it is time to go to bed. Happy hunting!
...

What is this emotion called criminal negligence?
And why is it suddenly so illegal? |

| Responsiblities are boring. |
[May. 19th, 2006|01:50 am] |
Well, it is 1:45 am and I need to get some homework done for tomorrow. I swear I would have started it earlier, but somehow I met Pete coming home as I was about to transfer buses after class, and the next thing I know I am leaving his house a few beers and much Black Adder later.
That is misleading. It is not the case that I was suprised to realize how late it was or that I had managed my time, in the view of some (boring) people, "poorly." I knew I was neglecting my work, and it made me feel somewhat not-bad. Anyways, Black Adder is well fit.
It is now 1:56 am and I need to go to bed. Homework will come in the morning, assuming I am up in time to do it before cycling to class. Good night! |

Just found out at the end of tonight's drawing class that we will have two weeks of drawing from nude models... I picture it be counter-intuitive. Or was that counter-productive? Or both? |

| Logic Class. |
[May. 11th, 2006|03:40 pm] |
Logic has turned out to be a really interesting class. If you can stand a bit of a headache. Here are two examples of some of the questiona we did in class (for fun!) today.
You are on an island where every person either ALWAYS LIES or ALWAYS TELLS THE THRUTH, and three strangers approach you. Man #1 says "Man #2 always lies." Man #2 says "Man #1 and Man #3 are the same type (either liars or honest)." What type of man is #3?
and
You run into two other men, one old and one young. The old one says: "I am a liar but the young man isn't." What are the two men?
First person two give me two correct answers gets a free beer.
Just for fun, here is one of the questions we did for... not-fun...
~{[A&(B&~C)]&[(GvH)&I]} Where A = True, B = False, C = True, and so on for G, H, and I. Is the premise true or false?
If you can give me the answer for that one... you need to get a life. |

Successful was the trip to Victoria. We managed not to kill each other over the weekend, which in itself is a small wonder. We managed to see the BC Royal Museum, the Royal London Wax Museum (conveniently NOT located in London), and a bunch of less interesting sights. Most notable was the brewpub Swan's (or Swan?) where they brew their own kick-ass beers. However, others have, or are going to, write about it so you can check those out: Here and Here are good places to start.
HOWEVER: I will post (the less painful) pictures. First up, in no particular order is a pic of Paul and Dave during our first night at Swan's.

Next is Pete, apparently making an outburst of some sort...

Looks like Paul took a side trip to London. I'm pretty sure thats the only REAL martini he tried all weekend :P

This is how damned good I look in glasses. I think I might wear them just for the hell of it.

Fantan Alley (sp?) Only really interesting thing about Victoria's tiny "China Town."

This is a good picture of Dave while we traveled.

I can't look at this picture without imagining everyone in a suit a la Reservoir Dogs.

Me trying to get my hair to blow in the wind :P

Pic of Heather from night #2 at Swan's. She was fun for a light-weight! She was very good natured considering Dave's meaty paws.

Me in leather....

Me in more leather, assaulting Pete in some way.

Turns out I have more of these to post..... Here's Dave in one of his best pictures:

Heather actually turned out to be a Klepto- stealing Dave's hat after only a half-pint.

Dave.... doing his thing....

Yet another great picture of Dave:

Paul looking pensive, as he tries to in EVERY goddamn picture I try to take of him. Regardless, this is a great picture that truly conveys the both the talent and the wisdom of the photographer.

Pete's Majestic Hair, coming back from Victoria.

Pete looking about 12 years old. You know Pete, if you're that young you can't call them jail-bait anymore.

Well, there ya go, enjoy! Strange that the pictures all turned out different sizes, but I use photobucket, and you get what you pay for. |

| Misc Photos |
[Mar. 12th, 2006|05:30 pm] |
We developed a roll of film today and found a mixture of month old photos. Their not of the best quality because I have a shitty scanner, but here's the best of them.
Penny is a bitch to photograph because she is always moving, but here's a decent one from Wreck Beach. She's chasing ducks. It's almost as if she thinks she can catch one ;) Of course, being a lab she has no choice.
For those of you with glasses, there she is again.
A final photo of Penny. It's the only one we have of her swimming, and the only proof that she is, in fact, capable of not-drowning.
Here's a photo of Pete. You'll almost be lying the next time you say you don't make good pictures.
And finally, a picture of Cecil. He looks strangely at ease considering the company and nefarious circumstances of this party. All I can say is this: Josh, Paul, and Dave, a shower cap, and three dead fish.
Now to go back to writing two of my last four essays for Brill. |

One thing is certain... I'll be damned if Celine performs at 2010.

| Missives from the old country. |
[May. 9th, 2005|10:59 am] |
This is going to be a partial update as i'm sitting in a 300+ comp internet cafe in Edinburgh at the moment. Scotland is bloody great. The higlands are beautiful, the scotch cheap and the weather cold-then hot-then cold again-then windy-then raining-hot again.... The weather here is a little odd. It is strange being surrounded by a city made completely of stone, many of the buildings dating back hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years... : P The city is very tightly packed, with thin and winding streets and mobs of people running about, despite the fact that Edinburgh is home to a mere 500,000 people. The city has a rather bloody history, as does all of the country, and you realize this as you wander about.
Off I go, theres still a lot to do. |

Birthdays are coming up over the next few months (Me, Dave, Rhodes, Steph, Paul, James, etc etc etc...) and its becomming prime weather to go paintballing in. I'm trying to get a hold of $15,000 I've got in a bond right now, and if I can, I vote we go paintballing! May would be best I think, as April is almost over, and continues to be a busy month. It would also be best to give Dave a chance to settle in before we go. June will be busy as well, as I have the WCT and will (hopefully) be working by then. So May it is! Sometime after I get back from Scotland. |

I thought it was a little more than a passing resemblance. Thanks Pete for the info.
After a flashlight reading of poetry in the tent tonight, I thought I'd add a little something myself.
Truth is an image painted with the colours of our beliefs.
On a related note, ignorance seems to be a rather popular colour.
If truth is relative, the term "honest" cannot be applied as there is no set standard of truth. Someone can still be seen as honest even as they make statements you /know/ to be false. Perhaps "honest" should be replaced with "more accurate." |
